March 12-13 2020, the day from which I felt the world stopped, The last time I felt goosebumps at the back of my neck like this was September 11. 2001 . North America was on lockdown, This time around I can see the fear in people and the intense chaos that happened at Costco. Crowds of people fighting for toilet papers and Purex soap. Everyone glued to their phone watching the number of infections rising. At that very moment I felt I was in a movie, the end of days are coming and thought about my grandparents. This eerie feeling must of been what my grandparents went through during WW2, waiting for bombs to land. .
You can feel a tension in the air, an unstoppable marching time that is slowly guiding us all towards an evitable unknown. The very next day downtown was a ghost town, restaurants bars were empty.. and the majority of the population stayed home . That very same night reports of all sports teams was closing and shutting down the league for a at least for 1 month. Cities imposing new legislation. Montréal was preparing for self Quarantine. At that moment I was thinking about my nephews and nieces, I can see the fear in their eyes. I would gently explain to them what was going on. No BS, rather telling the truth then sugar coated it, and of course reassure them that with time everything heals, even the planet earth
